The £1 million Sports Centre was opened
in May 2006 by Cornish Pirates’ players Owen Hambly and
Sam Betty, in memory of Stephen May, a former pupil and
gifted sportsman.
Brannel School Sports Centre ensures that pupils
can enjoy a high quality sports facility and continue with
Physical Education classes regardless of the weather or
examinations timetable.
The new facility aims to provide sporting
opportunities to pupils and the wider community. The Sports
Centre is available for community use during weekday evenings
and weekends offering a range of sports and activities for all
ages and abilities.
The Sports Centre, funded by The Big Lottery
Fund, has a four court sports hall equipped with four cricket
nets, changing rooms and toilets. The Sports Centre is fully
accessible with a disabled toilet facility and designated
parking spaces.
Our Sports Centre Development Coordinator, Miss
Laura Pedlar is responsible for developing the Sport Centre’s
programme of community sports and activities.
